As some companies work out how to re-establish their working patterns after the pandemic and let’s hope the new regulations are both effective in public health terms, and will not need to be reversed. Some employers are looking to reduce wages amongst their staff who opt to continue to work from home. This must be resisted. It is shocking that Google who claim to be a company of talent are amongst the first to try this on. This is legally dubious and may, according to ACAS, attract equal pay suits; the GMB will help its members defend their terms and conditions but the best defence is a strong union; you can join the GMB today.
